Terms of Service
Owl Social Limited · Last updated 31 August 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Owl Social Limited. By using Owl or Owl Planner, you accept them.
1. Who can use Owl
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. You need a working phone number, which becomes your account identity. Keep your device and phone number secure; anyone who can receive your verification code can reach your account.
2. What Owl does
Owl lets you check in at a venue and see other people who are checked in at the same venue, so you can ask to connect and chat. It also includes Owl's Cup, a party game you play with people around you. Owl Planner helps you plan a get-together: propose times, invite people, collect replies, and optionally place the agreed plan in your calendar. Both are coordination tools. They do not host the event, do not vet the people you meet or invite, and are not responsible for what happens when you meet.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of what you put into Owl. You grant us the licence we need to store it and show it to the people you invited or are checked in alongside, for as long as you keep it in the app. You are responsible for having the right to share anything you upload.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use Owl to harass, threaten, deceive or endanger anyone. Do not upload unlawful content, impersonate someone else, scrape the service, attempt to break its security, or use it to send bulk unsolicited messages. We may suspend or close an account that does any of these.
5. Inviting other people
When you invite someone who is not on Owl, you are sending them a message. Only invite people who would reasonably expect to hear from you. Do not use contact syncing to build a marketing list.
6. Owl's Cup and alcohol
Owl's Cup is a party game for people of legal drinking age. Playing it is entirely optional, taking a drink is never required, and you are responsible for your own choices. Please drink responsibly and never encourage anyone to drink against their wishes.
7. Connecting Google
Connecting your Google account is optional and you may disconnect it at any time. What Owl reads and writes, and where that data goes, is set out in our Privacy Policy. Your use of Google's own services stays governed by your agreement with Google.
8. Availability
Owl is offered as it is. We do our best to keep it running but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free, and we may change or withdraw features. Owl is in active development and behaviour may change between releases.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Owl Social Limited is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or anything arising from a meeting arranged through the app. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
10. Ending the agreement
You may stop using Owl and delete your account at any time through accountdeletionrequest.theowlsocial.com. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we stop offering the service. Sections 3, 9 and 11 survive termination.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the courts of Hong Kong have exclusive jurisdiction.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Owl after that means you accept the new terms.
