- Profile: Name, age, photos, gender, interests.
- Location: GPS (only while you use the app, to verify your check-in via QR code).
- Usage: Aggregated stats (e.g., matches per venue).
- Chats: Messages are stored and encrypted, and remain until you delete your account.
2. How We Use It
- Matching: Show your profile to others in the same bar.
- Location: Used only to confirm your venue check-in, then deleted as soon as it’s no longer needed.
- Photos & Chats: Stored securely until you delete them.
- Aggregates: Bars only see numbers (e.g., “25 users here tonight”).
- No Ads/Payments: We never sell or monetize your personal data.
3. Security
- Encryption: Passwords, photos, and messages are encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Access: Strict role-based access (engineers only see what they need to maintain the service).
- Hosting: Data is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
4. Your Rights
- Edit: Update your profile anytime in-app.
- Delete: Request full deletion by emailing info@theowlsocial.com.
- Consent: By using Owl Social, you consent to our collection and use of your personal data as described here.
5. Location
- GPS is used only in real-time to check in at venues.
- Data is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed for that purpose.
- Bars never see your personal details, only aggregates.
6. Age 18+
- The app is only for users 18 and older.
- Underage accounts will be removed.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll notify you by updating the “Last Updated” date above, and in-app where appropriate.
